I swear (!!) I cry with nearly every one of your newsletters! Good tears...always good tears. Thank you.

I’ve never heard of the book that Flirty recommended and plan to order it straight away. I did just finish reading Polysecure by Jessica Fern which was soooo good. I highly recommend to anyone thinking about opening up. Wish I would’ve read it years ago.

Hello Sophie, thank you for reading the newsletter to me. You’re holding my hand while I ACTUALLY get up and ready for the day (I don’t feel ready but at least I’m dressed).

I’m always up for more daring advice. I’ve been going on dates but everyone just felt like friends and nothing more. It’s hard to evoke the same kind of buzzy flirty feeling with women when most of my life I’ve only ever applied that to men...

I loved hearing about Norman! I feel your pain on the cats eating birds issue. Have you heard about the cat collars that look like a bright scrunchie? Bells are good, but my friend who knows a lot about cats told me these are also really good (also: cute). I’ve never bought one but there’s a brand called birdbesafe and one called protected wings.

Also, the rest of this letter was beautifully written, read, and very thought provoking. I especially loved the part about being loved as you change. I really felt that tonight. Thank you for sharing your stories and wisdom!

dear sophie,

thank you for sharing this and all. it's wonderful. here is a list of thoughts this inspires.

1) do you know that i LOVE advice columns/podcasts? now you do.

(some of my fave advice givers: dan savage, dear prudence, social q's, captain awkward. you now!)

2) i love "everyone was going to have to get a whole lot better at reading everyone else’s mind"

and "Life is an endless stream of new relationships."

and "You can ask!" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and "gather your support network and tell them how you’re feeling. Let them tether you to the earth and remind you that you’re already loved."

and much much more!

(including that you keep boxes for all your people! delightful!)

all of this!

3) the opposite of "find your chill" COULD be "find your WARMTH."

thank you as always for all of this.

love,

myq

I just finished therapy and then read your newsletter, and man, is that an excellent/devastating combo. I loved this. Learning to stop expecting the people around my to read my mind has been a real transformation. Thank you for this reminder.
